Bike Week 11th – 19th June 201614 Jun 2016
RADAR are celebrating Bike Week from 11th – 19th June. Cycling is a fantastic form of exercise, perfect for all ages, regardless of fitness ability. Cycling to work or school has so many benefits such as saving you money, burning calories and saving the planet!
Bike week is an excellent opportunity to promote cycling. “It aims to encourage people to take part in cycling by showing how it can easily become part of everyday life.” www.nidirect.gov.uk
Commuting to work or to School via bicycle is a healthy way to travel, both physically and mentally. Cycling can help clear your mind and kick-start your day with a bright, energising focus. While cycling has so many advantages, it is critical that it is done safely! It is important to remember some safety tips before setting off on your journey...
- Always wear your helmet
- Wear bright clothing and dress appropriately for your journey
- Carry a puncture repair kit and mobile phone if possible
- Be alert and use cycle lanes where possible
At RADAR, we specialise in teaching Road Safety to young people. We cover everything from crossing the road safely to vehicle stopping distances, including cycling awareness and safety. Our interactive centre lets young people experience real risks in a safe environment.
